Back in 2008 I organized a peer conference on Technical Debt at Calvin College along with Pat Bailey, Steve Poling, and Michael Kelly. Sponsored by the Agile Alliance, the event drew two co-authors of the Agile Manifesto. I was proud of the work we did.
One of my promises at the end of that event was to took what we uncovered and write something up. Eventually that became an article in Better Software Magazine – “10ThoughtsTechDebt.” Recently I had a reason to reference it, and I realized that, though I mention it on this very website, the /downloads directory had been lost in one of many server upgrades.
So allow me to present to you, again, an article once considered so worthy that it was printed on paper and shipped in the mail: 10ThoughtsTechDebt.
I hope it means something to you.
It meant something for me.
